I got the stang inspected yesterday. It passed.
The total was around $76 for inspection and emissions.. WTH?
$49.50 for emissions and $22.50 for inspection? Did they raise the prices? I remember paying $50-$60?
Anyone have an inspection recently? What did yours cost?

The $50-$60 range sounds right for both. Sounds like you just paid for someone's case of beer for the night. :D

I did some investigating and called 2 different ford dealerships to get prices for emission/inspection. Here is what I found.
Dealer #1
Emissions $40
Inspection $18
= $58 + tax
Dealer #2
Total for both is $62.95 + tax or $67.86 total
The guy at Dealer #2 said they haven't raised the rates in 2 years. When I asked why I was finding different prices, he said "we charge whatever we want to...." and I said "there is no state mandated fixed rate to charge" and he said "nope, we charge whatever" and I said "so you could charge 1 million dollars if you want?" he said "yep"
The moral of this story kids..... shop around for the lowest price for an inspection/emissions.

Yep, I called Tim and he said he would inspect it but I need to get the emissions done first cause it went over 5,000 miles for the year.
Next year if I can keep it under 5,000 miles then I'll take a ride down to see Tim
