Goodguys to bring the Flashlight Drags®, “Street Racing without the Jail Time”
to the 10th Goodguys Columbus Nationals July 2007

Flashlight Drags®
Altered Gas Performance Events, LLC of Bradford Woods, PA, is bringing the Flashlight Drags®, their popular style of “Old Fashioned / Heads-Up” Drag Racing to National Trail Raceway in Columbus Ohio on Saturday July 14, 2007. This is the first time the event is being held in conjunction the Goodguys PPG Nationals held at the Ohio Expo Center and at National Trail Raceway.
Event Description
The Flashlight Drags® is a family-oriented auto event open to all nostalgic or custom hotrod, street rod, muscle car, antique car, tuner car or related vehicles. It is our goal to provide the participants and spectators a chance to drag race after the Goodguys event ends on Saturday. The Flashlight Drags® will allow anyone who has built up a need for speed during their visit to 10th Goodguys PPG Nationals to watch or race the coolest, hottest and wildest vehicles on the planet at National Trail Raceway.
National Trail will take on the look and feel of an old-fashioned drag strip. We dim the lights and throw away all of today’s typical drag racing formats as we race, “heads up”, street style. We don’t post times or speeds. There is no bracket racing or classes, just a “run-what-you-brung” format. Street wise racers, as well as rookies, will feel right at home at this racer friendly event.
Our racers come in all flavors: Hot Rods, Street Rods, Customs, Tuners, Muscle Cars, Rat Rods, Antiques, and even Mini-Vans. Drivers choose an opponent and ask the other driver the age-old question: “Want to race?”
Each racer will proceed to the staging lanes and wait for his/her turn to run on the 1/4 mile. Ms. Flashlight signals the start of the race with a flash of her million candle power flashlight, it’s a trademark thing, and they’re off! 1320 feet later the finish light signals the winner. The crowd responds with amazement as an impeccable 1938 Plymouth pick-up truck smokes a late model Camaro, or an old Honda Civic hands a new NOS burning Dodge Viper his lunch. Amazing cars, amazing drivers, and amazing technology will run in heads-up racing at the Flashlight Drags, where it’s “Street Racing, Without the Jail Time”.

Simple Rules
Mufflers Are Required -These events are intended for Street Cars and Trucks only!
· Vehicle must be a registered vehicle (No Race Cars)
· Vehicle must be street legal
· Vehicle must be driven into the event
· You must show proof of insurance
· You must show a valid driver’s license
· No passengers on drag strip
· Convertibles - tops up and bring a helmet
· Mufflers required
· DOT approved tires only

There's a rumor going around that there going to cancel the FLD's at Ebensburg something about the airport has a closing sign out front ? They made a ton of money there last year, 5000 people watching and 200+ cars.

the orignal FLDs were at QCR and were 1/4 mile and actually at night. i liked those alot

i remember going to one about 3 or 4 years ago there. was a good time
