    A237 cam = Good :D

Ran a new best at the track tonight. Car went 12.38 at 112.78 mph :D Broke out on a 12.40 dial with that 12.38 ;) I still need to work on 60's, and there is more in it, the cam is stil lstraight up, and most like this cam +4 degrees.

    Video of that pass.......

Yes, thats a backfire on the 3-4 shift, but that pretty typical for mine, its not hurting anything ;)

You guys are fast ;) Thanks, I'm pretty happy with it for a T3 turbo on the car. I'm real happy if this is even close.....

    Full Slip

    60' - 1.728
    330' - 5.066
    1/8th - 7.867
    1/8th - 86.32 mph
    1000' 10.324
    1/4 - 12.383
    1/4 112.78 mph

Keep in mind with the gearing I run (3:97 1st gear, 3:73 rear, 26" tire) I am shifting 1-2 before 60', and 3-4 just before the 1/8th mile. None the less, I am looking for 1.65 ish 60' times with the shift.

That's one hell of a overall gear ratio in 1st! 3.97x3.73=14.80 and with a 26" tire. Pretty much dumpin' it and stabbin' it again in little over a second. Makes it fun though:)

What rpm are you yankin' it?

Yeah, I have to shift it REAL fast :D I am dumping at 5000 rpm off the line and pulling the stick at 5800.

I went with this cam as it is a higher RPM cam and I hoped to move to 6000 - 6200 for shift points. I need a test and tune to work out the cam timing and shift points with this cam. I am also going to try a lower launch RPM to get out of the spin in the 60' (but it still dinks them into second)

If you do not mind me asking Bob, what do you have as far as suspension mods? It's probably nice having the 4-cylinder in there when comparing engine weight with a V-8.

Suspension is a goofy issue with this car ;) Everything is from a SVO so its 1 1/2" wider than the normal fox stuff.

The front is just normal struts, SVO springs, still has the SVO sway bar (huge & heavy), etc. I have the other half of an Eibach launch spring kit to install on the front along with a set of Koni reds with adjustable rebound (will still be a normal ratio). I need to get that stuff on there soon ;)

The rear is CHE upper and lower control arms. Their arms are poly bushings but with delrin inserts arouns the sleeves, kinda a good compronise from the full poly to full delrin. Springs are Eibach launch springs with an air bag in the right rear (still no air in it, just the bag). Stock sway bar back there too. Shocks are old Monromatics or whatever (yellow ones).

Frame is tied together with LMM full length sub frames and tourque boxes have their kits welded into them too.

Believe it or not, there isnt a weight savings with the 4 cylinder over a V8. A dressed 2.3 Turbo is within 20#'s or so of a dressed 5.0, and a set of aluminum heads would make the 5.0 lighter. Add to mine the big intercooler I run and piping and such, and i'm in 5.0 leauge with this thing up front. My car is 3200#'s as weighted on 4 corner scales with me in the seat. There are quite a few compromisses in this car as I do drive it every day, so I cant go full on drag race with it, and refuse to gut it.

My challenge right now is that I need RPM (5000 +) to get the car to launch, but I cant get enough tire on it to keep it from spinning. I'm hoping I can soften it with cam timing and drop the launch RPM to make it hook.

Perhaps an aluminum headed 5.0L would be the ticket then?:) With the requisite Turbo(s)
