dont think im understanding the switches right

[this is copied from another post...to help field some Q&A]

am going to run a WOT switch for safety so the nitrous isnt activated at anything under full throttle.

now i had been debating between a push button activation or a window switch....but i dont think im understanding the window switch. i realize it creates a "window" for the juice to be used...ex. 3000-6000 rpms....BUT will the window switch automatically spray the nitrous from 3000-6000 or do you still have to push and hold the button? if so what is the use of a switch if you stil have to push the button?

also i heard you can program the window switch to activate at a certain gearing (auto car) but everything i have seen listed in the parts description doesnt mention anything about it.

A regular MSD digital window switch can't hold enough amps to open nitrous solenoids. They just open or close a ground during the widow you set. So you use this in conjuction with a relay to activate the solenoids. I would use a flipswitch to arm the system, I think it's easier than using a button. Basically the arming switch provides voltage to one side of a relay coil. The window switch provides the ground in the "window". That closes the relay which would send a seperate 12v source out to the solenoids to activate the spray.

    yea...so id have:

    wot switch
window switch set for certain rpm
    switch to activate the spray?

so a window switch cannot be set for a particular gear in the auto? i didnt think so but heard that....

i guess with the activation switch arming the system, the wot switch in to only spray at wot, then the window switch in set to say 3-5500 rpm...i could essentially spray in all 3 gears in the 1/4

im trying really hard to learn all this before it gets installed...im a newb.

Lots of switches in a good system lol
WOT switch: allows system only to work during WOT
window switch: allows you to set a RPM window that you want the system to work in
Arming switch: allows you to turn the system on and off
fuel pressure safty switch: allows the system only to work with proper fuel pressure

I'm not nitrous guru, but the window switch seems like a waste to me. What is that supposed to be good for?

spraying continuously at a certain rpm and you dont have to hold a button down to spray

i also just found one that has a first gear lock out....something id need right now since i dont have drag tires.

IMO they are good if you are only trying to spray it at a higher RPM range to avoid loss of traction off the line or a a saftey tool to keep from spraying the engine if you were to miss a shift and put it on the rev limiter. If you were to use a simple push button to activate the spray, your thumb could act as the window switch.

I saw a stick big block car that was sprayed down low untill the turbo made boost.

I am not an N20 or boost guru at all either.
