WHOO HOO! 500 miles and counting! DUW!

Well, I officially topped 500 miles on the new combo tonight (6-11-07). It fired up on 5-31-07 and here it is less than 2 weeks later and I've hit the 500 mile mark. I took the car for a ride tonight to put some miles on it and I took my camera along for the ride. Here's a few pics, I'm liking my hood and front bumper more and more now. Now that I have the initial 500 break-in miles on it, I can start making some full throttle runs. I need to get some tail pipes put on the car and then hit the dyno to check the AF ratio. I bumped the fuel pressure by 4lbs when I put this combo together, but I don't know if its enough yet or not... time will tell.

And here's a pic from a local show/cruise in that I attended with Troy. (Yeahloh95). And yes, that is a Simpson car seat in the back seat. Much to my delight and surprise, my daughter seems to like riding in the car!

No Rob, I will not be racing. If I do any racing this year it will not be until the fall. I've learned my lesson to avoid racing early in the year. I just want to enjoy driving the car again and make sure all of the bugs are worked out. I haven't even gone full throttle yet, so who knows how it will behave? I hope to get it on the dyno soon to see where the AF and such is. I may buy a wideband first though as I'd rather have a thousand or so miles on it before I throw it on the dyno.

Troy- I went where you told me and they said I had to get a pass in order to access the docks so I left and went home. I have to go back though as I got there a little too late and the sun had gone behind the mountains. I never did see a pull off on the mountain that you mentioned.

Steve- LOL! I thought the same thing when I came homne and looked at the pictures. I was in a hurry and never thought about it.

Man Paul that is seriously one of the nicest and well done mustangs I've seen in a while, inside and out. It's easy to go overboard but you nailed it with your car just enough but not too much.

That baby seat is f'n awesome!

Congrats Paul! I didn't know you got it running.

    Got any under hood shots?

If you are doing a wideband standalone, I'd make sure to get one like the Innovate LM-1 unit so you can also log rpm. There may be others with that feature now.

Mark, I got it running on 5-31-07. With a whopping 4 miles on the new setup I put it on the trailer and took it to the Carlisle All Ford Nats. Once in Carlisle I drove it around while I was there, then I trailered it back to bedford, unloaded it and drove it home. Since then I have been driving it any chance I can. I've had some idle issues, but I thinbk my IAC was just stuck. Now with 500+miles on it, I plan to see just what happens when the go pedal is matted to the floor.

I upped my base FP to 50lbs tonight as I pulled a plug and it wasn't brown enough for my liking. I really want to feel what this thing is going to do when I go WOT and let it pull into the upper RPM range, but I know better than to do it until I get the tune checked. I don't know what to do about the wideband, but I will be putting up a new thread on that soon.

Here is a current underhood pic:

    Paul,

I just put a Dynojet Wide Band Commander in the Cobra and it works great, plus I picked it up used for $200 shipped and the 2-1/8" gauge is included with it.

Very nice Paul. All that hard work really paid off. You waited awhile but im sure its been well worth the reward to have a car that looks that great and will move down the highway!

Troy's car has a great stance! Is it really that much lower that Paul's or is it just the angle the pic was taken at?
