heading out 910 cruising to work at 6:30am (luckily in the jeep). light up a smoke about halfway in and throw the cheap 10 for $1.00 kind of lighter i found somewhere onto the passenger seat. Listening to the X morning show i start to smell something weird, and am wondering if it was the cigarrette just tasting different in the morning, but it was not like tobacco burning but more of something made of rubber or another material.. i started looking around for some old guy to be outside burning a brush pile or something, and think nothing of it.... until the smell gets stronger, like a belt roasting on the pulleys... i turn the radio down and check out the gauges i cruise down the hill to north park on 910. Nothings out of the ordinary other than a weird smell of burning carpet, just then something told me to look over so i did, and saw my passenger side seat on friggin FIRE, with flames engulfing my pack of cigarettes, the lighter must have malfunction and stayed lit on the seat burning through the cover and starting a fire down in the seat cushion. flames were about 6" above the seat as i am freaking out going 45 mph down the road.:o this whole time a can of deodorant is rolling back and forth threw the flames as i am going through turns... luckily i had a full 2 liter of mt. dew in the jeep and just smashed it down on the seat and smothered it out... thats when the smoke started pouring from the seat and looked like something from a cheech and chong movie as the smoke billowed out the window.......
lesson 1-dont smoke
lesson 2-dont by cheap lighters
lesson 3-dont leave so much flammable crap on the seat of your car
so.... DOES anyone have some grand cherokee leather seats??? might as well upgrade
