i am clueless to this problem.. HELP?

Ok i am puzzled beyond belief with this problem that i just started having lately.

Sometimes when i am just driving down the road my car will just out of no where shut off and about 5 seconds it will come right back on like nothing ever happened and the car runs fine. One time it never came back on and it wouldn't start back up until it was cooled down.. This doesnt happen all the time. Sometimes i can go a couple weeks then it will do it or it could be a couple days.. I have no idea what this problem could be, can anyone out there help me??

When it comes back on right away is probably because you're basically catching it in gear because the key is in the on position. When it shuts off and won't start check for spark and fuel. If it won't start you probably aren't getting one or the other then you have a starting point.

yea.. it just doesnt turn over the whole way.. I am thinking it is my blaster coil bceause it had an MSD on it but that took a poop on me and now it just has the stock one on it now.

could it maybe be the fuel pump.. because it is starting to break up at high rpms.. But i dont know why im starting to get horrible gas mileage

my first thought was fuel pump...
gunk might be getting sucked into the fuel pump and the car isn't getting fuel... then once the pump shuts off, the gunk falls back out and allows things to run again....

Also try cleaning your MAF sensor wires. Have you installed or cleaned a oil based air filter lately?

No.. i got a k&N last year for it..

how do i clean out my MAF sensor without messing anything up?

Breaking up at high RPMs? "Breaking up" makes me thing coil right away.

How bout the thick film module? Thats a likely cause does it break up right around 5000? Cranks but wont catch? Could be it.
