Mark how much HP did you tell me a stock 4.6 could handle? Look through the pics on this link.

Well a cast crank in an aluminum block then shame on whoever decided to add lots of horsepower. Modular blocks will live up to 1000hp cast iron or aluminum but the rest of the internals I wouldn't feel safe adding a blower to. I worry everytime I make a pass that the oil pump gears don't come apart since they are powder metal.

I would say that was a pretty seriuos tuning error. Those looked like forged manley H-beams. Sean hyland runs lincoln aluminum block to 1400 hp. I don't know if those cranks are different then newer 4.6 and 5.4 cranks but new mod cranks hold 1000 hp all the time. The stock rods and pistons are straight junk. I've seen more then a few "vented" blocks from powdered metal rods.
impressive
broke a 302 crank in 3 places before but dam that one takes the cake
I was in no means bashing the 4.6. I just thought is was impressive how it exploded! U1ARUNIT and I were just talking about the limits on the 4.6 the other day. You should see what happens to a turbo V6 when it's pushed to it's limit. They have an exclusive club. DOTCC= drive over the crank club.
