    i was just going to say, the bearings inside the alternator are shot....

    this happened to the alt on my LT1 once and it doesnt affect its functionality too much... it still charges the battery etc.... but it sounds like a really awful souding F1R procharger under the hood....

    either a new one or have urs rebuilt... i think it was about 30 or 40 to have mine compltely rebuilt

    My neighbor had some different size belts so I took off my stock belt and was able to run a belt around the alt, a/c, water pump and crank, which eliminated the smog pump and power steering pump.

    It still makes a noise, so I am thinking that it is the alternartor.

    Colin - Let me know when your available to get that alt.
