    89lx price tag???

    i think i made a mistake...

a few months back, i looked at a bone stock 89lx convertable with only 70XXX miles. because it was an automatic, i really didn't go after it. the car is/was in excellent shape, new top, and was maintained by a ford garage mechanic for the last 10 yrs. i had forgotten about the car until about a month ago when a friend of mine bought the car for what I believe was around $5000 give or take a few bucks. what is a car like this worth? the reason, i'm asking is because the guy who bought the car never holds onto anything for very long and probably will be selling shortly. like i said car is in great codition for being 100% stock.

And then a little bit more too. I would of gone $3,500 tops for a 100% stock car, but that's just me. I guess I know how to buy them right.

Another crazy post. If that car was in excellent condition it could go for 6-7k. Southern cars go for more if all stock.

Well, I got mine off the original owner. He lived in Florida and PA. My car has ZERO rust on it. Perhaps I should come down to your neck of the woods and sell it for $10,000. Its perfect. Unless of coarse you want to buy it, then its only gonna be $9995. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If you say its as good as it is, come on down, I could forward some pictures for you to some friends in Georgia and here in North Carolina.

Ford may have made thousands of them, but there are not that many out on the roads, And to find one in original condition. The price is going to be higher.

So some of you would not pay a higher price than the sticker price for a 1965 original mustang with no "mods" on it. Get real people.

Think about it these cars are 14 to 20 years old.

You guys let me know if you want to sell your non rusted mustangs for $3500

We had a unmodded 90 lx vert, fresh white pearl paint, bone stock with low miles, new top, and no rust. We advertised everywhere for over a year and couldn't get $5000 for it. Ended up selling to a guy in NY for $3700.

Well, my Cobra isn't that old, but if you can sell it for me, I'll kick you a seller's fee. It's listed on pittsburgh craigs list for $29,800.

What I meant by that was I would buy them and re-sell them and make myself a profit. There is not much profit in a $29,000 car.

But I will forward any pictures you have to my buddy in GA. Southern boys have a hard time buying anything from up north. But that stems from way back...

it all depends, i've seen cars go for next to nothing to holy shit i can't believe you paid that much. Usually if it sparkles and has pretty wheels you can sell it. Also if the interior is well maintained you can make top dollar. If the paints eh. then you'll never get a good price on it. Bone stock unless the car was beautiful I don't think i'd pay more than 3,500.
