Cool what do you guys think about modular intake manifolds?

ok got 01gt lookin to purchase a new modular intake manifold. which one is the best to go with? there is the trick flow which is the same as the bullet pretty much, the hardballer, and the one i am leaning towards the p-51.
has anyone heard any bad or good reviews or does any one own any of these intakes on there 2v modular?
i am leanin towards the p-51 price dropped from 1400 to 699 but you have to buy the fuel rails seperately, i believe the trick flow is 800 an the hardballer is 6 or 700.

    thanks , ryan

dont get the PPI one, it produced a shitty 4 peak HP.... and actully negative HP from 1500-3000.

the p-51 is the best manifold for the 2vs period. that thing rocks. there are guys making over 350rwhp n/a that have that manifold. (that is a challange for us modular 2v guys.) i though about buying it but didnt because of the price. if it really dropped to $699 id buy that in a heartbeat. id get one myselft but you can't use one if you have a kenne bell :-)

The P-51 is one of the better one's I've seen, but it looks a little ugly to me. The trick flow is a bit new and numbers are starting to get out. One thing to remember if your close to stock your not going to pick up much power with a new intake manifold. Your going to need supporting mods like ported heads, cams, exhaust to get a real big gain over stock plastic manifold with a plentum and TB. Now if you have a blower the intake will make a more noticable gain.

I have had real good luck with the bullet intake, I have put it on a few cars, but it is real pricey... i think the new trick flow is a little cheaper, I can say it packs a big mid range increase on 2v cars with ported PI heads.. BUT, yuo have to have a bullet specific alternator, throttle cable, throttle body(or aftermarket), and goose neck.

    Cool

i think im leanin towards the p-51 i heard the ppi one is just straight garbage an i thought i heard u need all that extra stuff with the bullet i think i will pick up a good amount of hp with my built motor full bolt ons exhaust. i think it was 21 hp or something on a completely stock car i read on foxlake
that bullet is like 1800 last time i looked for just the intake so i think ill skip the bullet

now when can i just swap intakes an then be done with it or do i need to go out an tune it after etc ? i know a tune would be good to do but is it really necessary?

If you do go the P-51 route i would def get it tuned. Most aftermarket 2v intakes lose a good bit of torque down low and a tune can help recover some of that.

the p-51 is the best 2v manifold for not loosing low end torque. youd still want to get a tune.

i think 15-20 rwhp is possible with your heads and cams

You should be fine with your stock injectors. Just to give you an idea I made 300rwhp on stock 19lb injectors with my 2000.

you should be making more than 300 if you get that manifold. plus when you run nitrous its good to have a little "extra" injector for when you spray. up to you

When I pulled the blower off one time we added underdrive pulleys and a 80mm pro-m calibrated for 19's and put in my old stock injectors and she put down a tad over 300rwhp with the blower cams, complete exhaust, bullitt intake, and a few other odd's and ends. Now with the vortech I run 42lb injectors and she's making over 500rwhp :)
