any experts about vacuum??? need help!!

Bought a roller and am trying to hook the vacuum lines up so the vents will change from dash to floor etc. Understand that the vent defaults to defrost when no lines are hooked up. I have a small vacuum line that comes out of the firewall where the heater core is that I think goes to the selector switch. There is also a larger vacuum line that comes out of the firewall in the corner on the passenger side. It goes to a canister with two pop off caps on other cars and I have one if I need it. What I need to know is, what of this stuff do I need to hook up to make the vents change. I have a Victor Jr intake, so nowhere to hook a vacuum line up there. I'll have to hook to one of the small capped off nipples on the base of the Holley carb. Do I need a canister or not, as I don't understand the function of it? I have one like I described earlier and one that looks like a coffee can also. I want to use the simplest way, as I don't want a cluttered engine compartment.. Thanks for any help!!!

That's the one you need to hook up.

I thought you already explained that to him. Twice.

    thanks ed

Already hooked that one up and it still didn't work, that's why I asked again. I'll take the dash apart and see if I have a line off there, wouldn't surprise me if I did. For the record, he only told me that once, prick, I mean Wick.

That's the one that feeds all of the connectors inside. One of the vacum solenoids could also be bad which would also cause it to not change the air position.

Thanks, it works now. One of the lines was cut into in the dash.

it works better if you get vacuum from a canister first. If i hammer my car a bunch, my heat starts to blow out of the defrost vents. then it reverts back to whatever i have it set at after a few moments of normal driving/idling.
