Where do I begin. It's been a long time since I had the opportunity to put it on the chip and let r rip. It was once second nature to me, however I found myself hitting the mental checklist as I waited ever so IMpatiently to get the call to the lanes.
A quick glance of the gauges, everything looks right. Pulling up to the burnout box I spun the Hoosiers in the water a little and then proceeded to begin the burnout. First time with the line lock. I discovered quickly I needed more psi to hold Project 10.99 in the burnout box. As I approached the starting line I ever so softly prestaged the bottom breather. Bump, bump, ok staged. Damn, the pro tree is quick. First gear was a big bog until the stock shortblock twisted wedge headed 302 came up on the cam. Ok hit second(damn this thing is moving out) Oh boy, I am rusty rev limiter top of second. The second gear change goes smoothly and then it's into high gear. Feels abnormally strong considering PRP elevation and the % of humidity present. Then as I pass the 1000' foot mark I hear the rev limiter again. I am thinking at this point 12.5 something. To my surprise 11.6.
As the night progressed I whittled the e.t. down to an 11.32 Project 10.99 ran a best of 96.59 in the 660' That pass and every other pass I made was on the limiter for the last 150'+. 60' times were off the best ones by a tenth and a half as well.
Some bottom 11's in sight as soon as more weight is added. But wait who adds weight to go quicker anyway???![]()
