hey guys i just got done tearing that iac? valve off the car, cleaning it, and throwing it back on....when i started it back up...it idled higher than normal...like around 1k...then i revved it a few times and it went down a little, as i drove it to test it out i heard a weird whistle noise, like when your window is wet and you go to put it up lol....j/w is this the noise of death, or am i just an idiot? clark

I'm not too sure on the '01, but I cleaned the same valve on my '90 (5.0)several times, and there was a thin black gasket in between, if that is missing, it could cause some noise. But it almost sounds more like a vaccuum issue. I'm sure someone here will nail it down for you.

EDIT: Based on Troll's pic in the original thread, it doesn't look like there any vaccuum lines too close that could be loose.

i think i got it taken care of....the gasket is in and i just drove it again and its all good....finally got the back seats and carpet out to..thank you though
