What do you think 1250rwhp 3v

Went out to the Ox Roast car show tonight at the Trumbull County(OH) Fairgrounds. We were walking around and came across this display with two 05-07 mustang gt's sitting up front. Turns out they were on display for a local mustang shop that just opened up in Warren. Hadn't heard of them until tonight. Considering they are just 15 minutes from me I figured I would check out the cars and ask some questions to get a feel for them. Anyway one of the cars had a nice looking twin turbo setup on it. Starting talking to one of the guys that appeared to be one of the owners. He starts telling me about the "twin turbo supercharger setup on the car". Tells me that they are "twin exhaust driven superchargers" and the car made 1250rwhp on the dyno. Needless to say I was a bit skeptical so I asked where it was tuned and dynoed. He told me they had taken it to fla to have it tuned and dynoed. After more questions he tells me that steeda dynoed the car. In the meantime I hear someone else ask on of the other guys there what was done to the motor. He tells him the motor is completely stock. Now I know the 05-08 cars have a stronger bottom end than the old 2v cars but I can't see it holding together at 1250rwhp. I may be wrong, but I also find it extremely hard to believe that a stock motor(stock heads and cams) made that much power with just the twin turbo's. I have to call BS, but what do you guys think?

One of the guys mentioned they have a dyno sheet but didn't bring it with them.

Wow... what a huge line of bullshit... hope you weren't wearing your sunday best!

I guess you could call a turbo an "exhaust driven supercharger", especially if you live in the world of all forced induction being a supercharger or variant. But man, way to make the terminology complicated.

In any event, I'm going to guesstimate 1250rwhp to be 1500hp at the flywheel (assumes 16% drivetrain loss). To get that HP you have to push at least 170lb/min of airflow, or each turbo having to push 85 lbs of air. Thats going to mean twin 102mm turbos at a bare minimum. A typical turbo from Garrett with these characteristics is the GT4202R. Shoving an 84 trim on 2.3 liters of displacement (half of the 4.6 mod motor) means a lot of surge. With the smallest turbine housing having a 1.01 AR, good luck getting 2.3 liters of displacement to spool that below 6000RPM.

What suprises me is that he is trying to tout his shop with this line of bull. If I were you I wouldnt let him touch your car unless you plan on selling it on ebay using Alanis Morrisette on crack as a model (inside joke about another thread).

Yeah I moved up there for a while in alaska but I got a better offer here in the lower 48 so I popped through on my way to my new home.

Dont sweat not making it out. Im close enough that I could get in once a month give or take.
