hmmmmm..... you been there lately? They made PRP look like the Safety Safari with track clean-up, and they took out all the big grandstands on the start line end of the track. It also seems they sold off part of the PA system too. I was pretty disapointed with the place to be honest.

I had the same thoughts, didn't seem like the same setup from when the Springnationals were there. Although the NMRA (should be NfordRA) is a smaller draw. The big jumbo-tron was gone too. I was surprised that the bulk of the cars in bracket racing seemed to run high 12's. How bout some of the oldies running 20sec + My highlight was the '94 MarkVIII running low low 9s. Jiminy xmas, they let a stock 4 door focus run. I even told Silvernotch I felt like it was a TnT night at Keystone, except it cost me $20 to get in and an extra 2 hours drive time.

Both of those fox bodies ran 10.36. The runner-up went 10.366 and the winner went 10.368, but had a better light. That class is super-competitive. It has sparked an interest in me for a couple of reasons. First off, it's an N/A small cubed class that is predominantly manual trans. fox bodies. Camshaft lift is limited as well as cylinder heads and intake manifolds along with a host of other peripherals. These cars are dialed in tremendously and each racer who is gunning for the top spot will try everything allowed within the parameters. Extensive testing of cylinder head port jobs, cams, gears, and chassis refinements elevate the costs along with the cost of just getting to a race and competing. I'd like to give it a shot one day;)

ok i know i am probably going to get flammed for this question but how does the winner run a slower time with a better light? how does that exactly happen?

The car with the slower time 10.368 had a .046 reaction time versus the quicker time's (10.366) reaction of a .100 light. The class is a heads up class with no dial in. Who ever has the better e.t. reaction time package gets the win light. The .100 light car fell behind the .46 light car and even though the runner-up had roughly 1 more mph of trap speed he could not recover and come around the better light and similiar e.t. of the winner.

im a huge fan of heads up racing and i definitely love this class. unfortunately you hit the nail on the head with the money factor. as much as i want to build a class car, it honestly makes no sense for me. this is why i haven't put the cobra back together and i might just keep my new car a street car. maybe someday i will have the time, money and support to campaign a class car...but it takes so much more than many people realize

I have been watching the class closely for the last 3 years and the 4V cars are right there at this point. Wilson's bullitt is getting it done with Brodix cylinder heads while the other top eight pushrod cars sport T.W.'s. I am at the same point you are at with the $$$ situation. There are so many unforseen costs *if* you want to run with Anderson/Downs/Wilson pack. I mean you have to be runnin' 10.30-10.40's and have consistency for a W. I have a cylinder head guy for the R&D and I would have him spec the cam as well. Maybe in a couple years
