I know the retune is being taken care of as we type in this thread and some more seat time will take care of the driver mod. Hell even ionlywashandleaveitinthegarage made it into the 10's!

Im running some cost/benefit scenarios right now. I'll probably have the game plan formulated by the end of the weekend.

I still like the idea of a TT v6 but I cant find a crank that would stand up to more than 400hp

engine looks like but I dont know jack shit about carbs. I can program a fuel injector's pulse width no sweat, but carbs are foreign to me.

Plus I want a power adder

You could always use a 24v DOHC 3.0 from a Stealth R/T TT and make it RWD instead of AWD. They hold together with 600 AWHP. In the Fox, you'll only need around 475 RWHP to keep up with Cam.

    That's a TBI setup..

If you want to be different...go N/A....seems like power adder is the norm anymore.

I'm still all for a screaming 3.0 v6 out of an SHO.

Dont you think it would be easier to use a mod motor since they were available in 99-04 cars? Its an interesting idea, but I think it would mean more fabrication versus the mod motor(s).

I still have to pick up a copy of 5.0 magazine I didnt get a chance yesterday.

He said he could "program a fuel injector's pulse width", not visibly identify one!

A mod motor if it's a V8 and not a POS V6 to start with. Like you said, there's not a crank easily avaible fo it. Starting from scratch, go V8 or go back to Alaska!

actually its tpi setup... i see the fuel rails now... they got lost in all the bling. :)

Power adders are the norm if you own a honda or started with a car that had a power adder in the first place. I have an affinity for them and for me tuning a fuel injected turbo car I could do in my sleep... okay maybe im nothat good but you get my point

    5.4 DOHC converted to tbi.

Ed brings up a good point with the TT 3.0 STealth/3000GT motor...

What about a Subaru 2.5 turbo boxer engine. You can easily crank one of those over 450HP. It won't sound like an angry bumble bee on crack, and I don't think i've ever seen that particular setup in any car other than a Subaru?

You also have the 2.0 turbo Eclipses, Talons, & Lasers floating around....although I don't know what kind of output potential they have...I would assume max of around 475hp sprayed

well yeah by mod motor I was implying v8.

let me get that 5.0 mag and see how tight the space is with the mod motor in there. If its not too painful and I can find a motor for the right price I'll consider it

Yes... quite a few possibilities. I guess its going to come down to how cheap can I get the motor and how expensive is the parts market for it.

I kind of wanted to stay with a Ford motor not so much for keeping a Ford engine in a Ford body but this is a Ford site and I wanted to take advantage of using performance shops that sponsor this site.

LOL i might settle for a 4.6... just did a car-part.com search and they seem to be reasonably priced (less than a grand) if im willing to go with a 1997 or 1998 4.6 SOHC.

I assume your planning on having work done to the heads? 1999+ 4.6 SOHC have the better PI heads
