the purpose of the fmu is for a car that isnt tuned to spike fuel pressure under boost. the smaller the injector the more it needs to spike. those cars on the stock computers have no way to map out the fuel when boost is present there for needing the fmu. now with a pms like i have, u have to run a 3bar map sensor and put in fuel maps so when boost is added it ups the injector pulse width giving it the needed fuel under boost.

Agreed, but if you use the correct size injectors and pump in the 1st place, it's not a factor. Like I said, it's a band-aid for trying to get by with not enough fuel from a factory setup.

Band-aids can fall off while well set up FMU's will always be there to properly appropriate fuel addition.

Thanks guys. George, hahahaha. I tlaked with my tuner today. I belive I am gonna eliminate the fum and go with an SCT chip. He is gonna start with a mail order to get it running. Then tune from there. It will be nice for now until I can make it there for the dyno session.

Yep years ago when I had my 5.0/Vortech combo we used an FMU. Now a days we can go with the larger injectors, a good MAF, and a proper/safe tune.

The fmu was slapped on for temp driving. I am getting the tune alot sooner than I thought. Watching the Fuel gauge, it likes to go up. I accidentally hit some boost today. Did not really mean to. I was pulling out and went to pass some asshat in robinson. When I grabbed second gear i hit the gas. Next thing you know there is 10psi on the gauge. That was at about 38-4000 engine speed. I quickly let off. Tires were smoldering with no effort. This is something I am going to need to get used to. HAHAHAHA I belive there was a solid banana like shape in the center on the shorts I had on. All this while on the phone with silvernotch.

So you put the stock k-member back in?
Your gonna blow that thing up before you even get a tune especially if you still have 14 degrees of timing in it.
