    MT-VS-Nitto DR's

Any thoughts on how much better one is than the other? Any 60' times with the same car with both tires? I can pull 1.8's with the Nittos (315-35-17's) I was thinking about getting the MT's for next year.

ive heard nothing but bad things about nitto as far as traction how ever i heard they last alot longer than mt's and bfg's again i have no personal experience with either some of my friends run them. i have driven a bolt on 04 mach1 with nittos before and they were all but helpless on the street. my buddys 96 bolt on cobra hooked farily well with the bfgs on the street and i think mid 1.7s at the track.

There's enough hook in the M/T's to generate tire shake that can shear the studs clean off.

When talking about the 17" size, the MT Drag Radials can hook fine at the track depending on power level and suspension setup. For the street they won't last for chit.

I'm getting around 4-5k with the Nittos (2nd set) I try not to get my car in the rain but twice I did and if you don't get stupid the Nitto's they do well enough to get you home in one piece. As a street tire I love the Nitto's. I want some 1.7's at the track though.

Get ya some cheap pony rims or something similar and mount up the MT's for the track and keep the Nitto's for the street. The MT's got it all over the Nitto's at the track, then again if you get some cheap pony rims and throw some ET Streets on there that would be even better at the track. I drove to the track with the slicks in the back seat and bolted them on in a few minutes then put the street tires back on for the ride home.

The Nitto's do just O.K on the track. They do last long.... I can't speak for the MT's. Never had them but may get them next time.
