camaro SS badging - more than 1 style?

This morning on my way to work I saw a white camaro that claimed to be an SS. It had SS badging on the right rear on on the sides where a 5.0 emblem would be on a mustang, but a few things didnt seem right to me:

    1) the SS emblems seemed painted on
    2) His exhaust didnt match (but with the way the car sounded, it was probably an aftermarket dump or something. I couldnt see any exhaust mufflers or tips)
    3) On the rear of the car across from the "SS" designation it said "6.3 LITRE". So the SS was on the right and the 6.3 LITRE was on the left. I thought the spelling of "litre" was a canadian/european spelling.

Its been a while since Ive seen a camaro ss, but I recalled the designation being a raised emblem, not something that could have been "painted on" or was a sticker, and I never remembered seeing one that said "6.3 litre". But like I said, I havent seen one in a while.

Did I just see a case of domestic rice?

Probably something that was done custom. 6.3L would be a 383 so he probably had a stroker kit in it.

    hmmm

okay my guess then is that it was an ordinary v8 camaro that he feels should now be called an SS because he stroked it. the "SS" emblems didnt have the light accents around it as shown in the picture.

You will find a lot of Z28 guys that throw SS emblems on their car.... just the way a lot of mustang GT guys put the cobra snake on their car.... all pretty gay if you ask me...

However, you are right... the emblem on the right rear bumper should be an actual emblem (like the ones on the front fenders) not a sticker. I think

I was 10 minutes late for work, he was making a right, I was going through the intersection straight.

I was tempted to be even later but didnt want to enjoin the wrath of boss :)

Yeah I would have looked forward to it. Really sounded mean and he was turning onto a 2 lane road. Hopefully its his daily for work and I'll run into him when I have time to get some action going.
