Ok, last night the car started to make a little TICK sound, but me worrying about it being THE tick sound, investigated and found out that it was in the SC Belt pullies somewhere... I figured it was the tensioner being that when i applied pressure to it, it would stop ticking...

Well, I was wrong, went out tonight to take the girlfriend home and as soon as I pulled off my road, heard a loud flapping noise coming from the drivers floor. Pushed in clutch, went away, shifted to second, did it again, and then a loud WHAM. The funny thing is, it did this earlier in the day, for about a split second and disapeared...

I thought, oh shit... Then the ALT light came on, and a louder ticking noise ensued.

Luckily i was close to home, and just weened it home to find out that the belt was contacting the elec. fan and making the tick noise, ok, that made me feel better... Now, find out what caused my car to eat my belt. I was looking at all the pullies, and then I look down to the crank pully and see that the idler between the ALT, and CRANK pullies EXPLODED.

It had peeled the belt side of the pulley off, and folded it back over itself. Not just a little bit of a peel, but like an inch and a half! It looks like the pully was cracked, and it finally just gave out and died, it still spins freely and everything, all the pullies do. I just found that odd. Has that happened to anyone else?

And, is there anywhere to get that pully? Its just an idler...

and I need a new belt now... NAPA sell's Gatorback belts dont they?
