No never had any problems with my 2000 GT. It's like half a quart if that every oil change. I'd look and check out the PCV setup. I'd say maybe valve seals, but with the low milage I doubt it....hmm you have a good puzzle on your hands.

mac long tubes are notorious for causing that. my 03 gt with 2k miles burned oil like it was cool after the mac lt install, you should have seen it smoke out the dyno bays at kauffmans and stropes

My 2000 Gt when I had it used 1.5 qts just going to Bradenton from Cranberry. About 1400 miles.

My 2004 GT seems to use a little oil but has no leaks and doesn't smoke that I have noticed. I run 5w20 Royal Purple. Course high rpm launches may be to blame as the cams whip the oil into a nice mist to get pulled into intake.

how do headers cause oil consumption?

From my experiences with motors going thru that much oil. It could be several issues. could the the PCV system sucking in oil, or it could be a cracked ring gland. these are two common findings with the LSX community and im sure its the same for a Mod motor

From what I've heard, because of Mac's poor build quility, the slag inside the header from the poor welds were getting sucked back into the motor and scoring the cylinder walls causing bad blow by.

thats the first i heard that. if thats the case then wouldnt that be in the installer? I mean I dont install a part and not inspect it before installing. and if it is scoring the motor then i would file a lawsuit against Mac. Now if it did score the walls then you need to rebuild motor.

this is a mystery to me, i rebuilt this engine 25k ago, from top to bottom, it has no leaks at all and blows no smoke, but it still eats 1-1.5qts between changes. i have ben told by some people that there cars just use oil, my 5.4l truck eats a qt between changes but it has 180k on it..

This was happening to a few people and was discussed in length on the corral. MAC was aware of the mishap and claimed they rectified the issue.
