Under the whole slab & the perimeter. Loutheplumber makes a good point on the thermal break at the overhead doors. If you don't you give the cold a spot to wick into the slab & drive up your heating bills.

What are your thoughts about putting a long thin drain inside the garage door? I have a couple of friends that swear they think is a great idea. Am not sure I buy it.

Since the drain is inside the foundation how to you drain the water thought the foundation wall? I called the inspector asked a few questions. He would prefer the 32’ I Beam, trolley and chain hoist not be installed until AFTER the final inspection… He said the drain uses a 4” hole in the foundation. Is that hole just knocked thought the wall or is cut?

well you could break the hole through after the block is laid or you could put the pipe through the wall first with some planning

Ceiling doesn't look high enough for a lift.

his original requirments and design was for a lift on one side

With the sloped ceilings it doesn't look like there is 12' of ceiling height for a lift. When we put the one at my Dad's we made sure the ceiling was 12' across the entire area that the lif was going. Any less than 12' and my guess is there would be clearance issues.

good point. yea he would need 12' at the lowest point. I was thinking he was going with 12' walls and if he did that he would have clearance for the lift.
