    Car will not do anything!

I was getting ready to leave my house and i go out to start my car and nothing happens. I mean NOTHING. I thought maybe the battery even though the lights and everything came on. BUt i tested it and the battery is fine. I hear the fuel pump so i know its getting fuel. But here is what happens. I turn the key and nothing happens. It does not turn over, no click sounds, nothing. I thought maybe my blaster coil so i take off the plug wire that goes to the blaster coil and i turn the key and nothing happens, no spark or anything.. So could this be the issue or do i have bigger fish to fry?

haha.. thats what i thought was wrong, but i was able to drift the car in when it was in first gear so it isnt the clutch.

probably the +pos battery cable going to the selonoid i had a bronco and it happened twice, sometimes if you jumped it or jiggled the wire it would work, or possibly the fusible link on starter

X2. Just use a screwdriver. The solenoid shouldn't be on the starter, unless the 94-95 cars were different from the Fox's.

Possibly ignition switch?, or the switch that lets the engine know the clutch is pushed in? This happened on my '95.

A buddy called me tonight about the clutch safety switch and i tried starting it without the clutch pushed in and with it pushed it, it does the same thing both times. Nothing at all happens and all the same idiot lights come on and the radio and clock go dim.

if clutch switch went bad pushing pedal wont have any effects on it. you will need to ground the wire yourself to see if that is the problem

i would still check the soloeniod. fords are notorious for that issue

if all else fails bust out the voltmeter and start troubleshooting...sheesh

ViperEd actually bypassed my switch, to get mine to start. Prior to him doing that, it showed the same symptoms as yours. Trying to start the car with or without the clutch pushed by itself won't tell you if the actual switch is bad. If the idiot lights go on and off I would *think* that the ignition switch is good.

well i checked all the fuses and they were all good except for the interior lights but that should have nothing to do with that. So tomorrow i will start trouble shooting the solenoid and tehn go from there..

I would check that solenoid on the starter, I don't know how hard it is to get to it on a 94-95 but they are known for going bad. If it's easy to get to the starter solenoid disconnect the small wire and have a multimeter ready and have someone turn the key over with the clutch pushed in and measure voltage from the small wire to a good ground. If you get voltage at the small wire (which I believe should be 12V) then the clutch switch is good. If this is the case your solenoid most likely is the culprit.

If you unplug the clutch switch and use a jumper wire to jump the connectors on the harness it should act as the switch being closed.

ok here is the funyn part... yesterday i was checking the starter soleniod and everything is fine with theat then i plug it back in and my buddy wanted to see what was exactly happening and it fired right up??

I thought maybe it was dirty or something. ANd i shut it off and started right back up. So i took it out and went to detail a car then when we were done i went to start it.. NOTHING same thing happened again, but it will run cause we caught it in gear and it started up.. then after we went to get something to eat i shut it off and it started right back up and now since over night, it will not start again now??? This has me puzzled.. Could there be a dead spot on the starter?
