Put my hardtop on, need opinions on what color to paint it DUW

I'm not sure how many of you remember this but I was lucky enough to score a factory cobra hardtop for my car earlier this year. Since winter is right around the corner I wanted to get my hardtop on to see what it looked like on the car. I still don't know what color to paint the top. Should I paint the top, window pillars, and mirrors black or paint the hardtop yellow to match the rest of the car? If I paint it yellow, what should I do with the black piece that goes between the top and the car (see the last picture)? Here's some pics, let me know what you think would look best. (BTW I took these with my old camera which is shot and does weird things with the colors)

















Here's the black piece that has me worried if I decide to paint the top yellow. I'm not sure what to do with it since it goes from the back all the way up to the side mirrors.

I'd mimick the factory hardtop color scheme as close as possible. Never was a fan of the monochromatic look on stangs. e.g., painting mirrors and molding/trim pieces body color, unless of course the body is painted black.

By the way what's that hardtop weigh?

Joe- its a good bit over 100lbs. The factory hard top cobras were all black on black.

If I didn't live in "steeler country" I would conceder this, but as Tim has already alluded to it might be assumed that I've a fanatic steelers fan. I just don't people thinking i painted it this way due to the steelers which I know would happen if I did.


92306gt- The back window will definitely be tinted no matter what. I'd like to do the side windows too but after getting fined for it a number of years ago I'm not sure that I want the hassle of being more of a cop magnet than it already is.



I've done numerous photoshops since buying this top and I still don't know what to do. I'm afraid that with the top down and the A pillars black it might look funny, although a lot of other convertibles come that way from the factory. Here's a few photoshops I have:









Here's a picture someone sent to me a long time ago of what appears to be another yellow convertible with a factory cobra hardtop that is painted yellow and that left the trim piece black. I don't really like the black line on this car. Look in the background of this picture:



I'm also worried what the black A pillars will look like with the soft top up. It too is black, but it will definitely be a different shade of black. I tried to photoshop it but its hard to tell if it'll look weird or not.

Agreed on too much yellow, but that thing reminds me of an Eclipse in that picture for some reason.
