Did you put the timing light on the wire from the coil to the cap? If you don't have spark there, it's usually a bad module on the distributor or a computer problem.

Another thing to try is the relay that is in the kick panel by the computer. I have seen where if it is bad there will be no spark also.

The 3 things I listed are all that I know of that will allow the coil to not have spark.

Did you verify that the coil is powered with 12v+ with the key in the forward position?

I know. You need to go spend $10 and get one. Radio Shack or Lowes.

Well, I see you either learning how to use it, or learning how to change a windshield.

do you have the dist bolted down, not just setting in the block?? the dist has to have a good ground, If you can't figure it out just gimmi a call, i am sure i can figure it out for you...

Always make sure you have it bolted down when you try starting the car also. If not, I have seen where you can actually short out the module if it doesn't have a good ground like Timmy said.

Listen, take the dist out of the engine, leave it plugged in, then either use a jumper wire to go from the dist to the block or you can try to hold it up against something for a ground... leave the key on and unplug the coil wire from the coil and simply turn the dist gear, you should have spark jumping from the coil, if that doenst work try unplugging the spout, then turn the gear... I have seen one of the 3 power wires going to the ecu not working correctly (usually a fuseable link), taking out the spout and trying it helps use 2 diff "parts" of the ecu...
