    1966 Galaxie Under the Knife!

Well I pulled my 66 Galaxie 500 out of my barn so I can get her back on the road. Some of you know, the frame went and the car was pulled off of the road 4 years ago. I found a perfect frame to put the car on. I was going to make it perfect but I want this thing to drive so I will just make it “real nice”. I will post up some pictures but is a real fun car.

Can't wait to see those pics! My Dad had a '68 LTD that he bought new. I drove it to college for a few years. Just a 390 2barrel with a C6, but it always ran great, got almost 20mpg on the highway, and sounded great with the stainless duals and glass packs on it. At one point it wouldn't pass inspection because of the frame rot, so we had a guy remake the rails between the front and rear tires on both sides. It was a long time ago ( 25 years? ), but I think he charged like $200 to do the work. The car was a pretty cool LTD...2 door with a black vinyl roof, Presidential Blue with a nice dual white pinstripe, and the 5-spoke mag-style Ford hubcaps with the red center caps. I wish we still had that car...if we did, I'd put in a wild 428 and a toploader...
2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.

1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

Yea. For what ever reason this car just sounds sick! I think I already ate half a tank of gas just running it on the trailer this week.

I need to grab some more codes off of the block. I was 95% sure it was a 428 but now I am thinking is it sa 410 (stroked 390 for the Mercs).

Here are some "barn fresh" pics. I pulled this out of my barn last week. I never put a cover on the car because I didnt think I was going to do this one. 4 years later its back.

65-68 frames had a bad design. They held water and junk in the rails and boxes. Ford got the 60-64 frames perfect but droped the ball with these ones.

You really need to build a garage behind your place to store your cars. The barn is killing the bodies of your cars. If you guys think the car looks solid at this point, you should have seen it 4 years ago. Looked like a show car!!!

Can't wait to see the final result Colin ...damn I love that car

That's a great looking car!! I like the roof and clean lines of the '65-6 bodystyle. That last photo is badass!! As you know...I'm partial to green - especially Ivy Green, which is what that car looks to be....

Looks good Colin.....(1) nice body and (1) nice frame will make a solid foundation.

This is a pic of my buddy's 416ci FE with a c6 and 3.50's gears and ported CJ heads. It sounds insane. Car is a 67 Marquis. I've been to fords at carlisle many times...but never seen a 67 marquis...few 67 parklanes...but no marquis.

I love the look of the grill on the '66. You will have to post some before/after photos of the same shots.

Colin That Car Looks Good. I'm Sure It Will Be 100x Better When Your Done.

When I Was A Kid My Mom Had A 65 Galaxie 4dr With A 352. The Front Section Of The Frame Was Bad But It Was Still Cool Even For A 4dr :d

Ahhh, the notorious Eat 'N Park burn-out king is back! So are you going to sell the stinkin' Lincoln to Neil so you can drive this everyday again like in high school?

    well if it's original it's a 428.

    410's were merc only.

    damn nice project car BTW.

ever though of a steep geared high revving FE??

360/390 block or 359 FT block with 359FT steel crank/rods/balancer/flywheel.

ported edelbrock heads/harland sharp rockers/nice big cam topped with a dual quad offy intake and Carter/edelbrock 600's???

put some 4.56 gears in it and it will scream like a 427.

although i do love the 410 and 428 they have diesel torque
