Hi. Has anyone ever had the problem where the TV cable for the AOD wouldn't stay in its metal bushing? According to the tranny shop, mine is shot and they're getting me a new one from Texas. There were only 2 OEM cables located in the whole country!

My wife's 87 has never had that problem. We have had to replace the grommet on the throttle linkage twice, but we are still using the orig. cable.
Was your grommet plastic or brass? Apparently there was a TSB where the plastic ones were replaced. I'm going to try putting in a new brass one first. THANKS!
There both were plastic. I did know that Ford releases a brass unit. I would highly recommend replacing the plastic grommets with the brass because both times the plastic one fell apart, my wife toasted second gear and we had to have the AOD rebuilt.
Let us know what the part number is for the brass unit.
