Post up your new records from 10-14-06 track rental

I know a lot of you ran some new best tonight at the track rental, so let's see them!

My dad finally ran his first 11 second runs at PRP with a 11.8 at 114mph. His previous best ET had been a 12.01. I thought he did pretty good concidering he was hot lapping the car and this is the first time the car has been drag raced in over a year!

Tonight was my first 11 second pass too, just not in my car. I hadn't raced a car on the drag strip since blowing mine up back in April of 2005, but tonight I made 5 passes in my dad's car. On the last pass I managed a 11.97 at 114mph.

Between my dad and I we managed 19 runs tonight, is that a record??? :) The only car I think that may have us beat was the Evo that was also hot lapping. I was SO afraid that the clutch was going to let go on dad's car after the troubles we had in the past, but luckily it performed flawlessly.

I took a TON of pictures and a lot of video. It will take me a while before I can get them all posted, but keep an eye out for them.

    I ran a best of 10.94 @ 132.31!

My best mph tonight was 133.65 and I also had a 133.59.

I am making the power, now I gotta do some suspension mods and Level 5 HS so I can come out higher than 4k!

I am very happy to close out the season with a 10 second time slip!

Congrats to Mike Riva and Mark!...The track rental went very well for most who attended!

As for me I wanted a 9.99 and was suprised by a 9.66 @140 then backed it up with a 9.7X and a 9.9...the car felt great and all 9 sec passes where "brake footing" the car to about 2 grand and slamming it down

Drove the car there 20 miles with slicks and drove it home on slicks! LOL

All passes where PIG rich 10:1 and total timming of 24 deg with c16 and Methonal (wich i probally didn't need)

If anyone has video of my 9 sec passes I would like to have them for my web page

    thanks!
on one note one of the track officials (who lives up the street from me) told me he would let me finish the night...but don't bring it back unless I update it to 9.99 specs

stock 302 N/A shortblock track times inside

Took advantage of a track rental near Pittsburgh PA this sat. Elevation of track checks in at a not so mind shaft friendly 1210'. This combination has been together for a year and a half with some minor revisions. These include, Holley Systemax intake (put the TFS Track Heat on the back burner), Canton race pan, lightening of the chassis, two slick size changes, and a host of rear suspension mods.

Speaking of rear suspension, two thumbs up for Baseline Suspensions upper and lower control arms that allowed for sub 1.5 60' and a launch rpm of 6,600 with NO WEIGHT IN BUMPER.

Team Z's anti-roll bar performed flawlessly as well on the FOX body.

Anderson Hi-Rev clutch worked well on each 6,300 rpm shift.

Tremec TKO did it's best at robbing power (G-Force T-5 would be a welcome addition)

All in all I am happy with the results from this non flycut stock shortblock that sports an off-the-shelf hydraulic roller and some Fox Lake Twisted Wedges and a unported Holley Systemax.

    incrementals:
    60' 1.492
    330' 4.469
    600' 6.995
    MPH 97.32
    1000' 9.178
    1320' 11.030
    MPH 121.08

Stocker tear down fund is now accepting personal checks and credit cards. So feel free to join us in our pursuit to get to the bottom of this stock shortblock hoopla...

Mike, I think I have everyone of your 9 second passes. I'm too tired now to look, but I know I have at least 3 9 second runs of yours. I'm sending you a PM now.

Joe, I have a few of your runs too. I know I have a few 11.0X at 120.Xmph ones. BTW- my dad's is still a standard bore 302. (stock block, rods, crank, and SRP standard bore flat tops) :) Your car is f'ing sick by the way, and it sounded so damn racey with the open X pipe! It sounded like an auot for how quick you nail those shifts!!! I don't know who's car is more unbelievable and impressive, your's or Bill's with the AODE '95 sporting stock E7 heads and running 11.5's!?!? I know he had a new best tonight too! Again, nice times by all. Maybe next year I can have some fun behind the wheel of my own car.

Troy, you have to actually race a car to beat a certain time. Were you not aware of that???

Hell, if you went 11.0 at 120 here, you should easily see a 10.8 at 122 or better there. Make sure you trake the 27" tall tires if you go, as i think you'll need them to stay off of the limiter. I heard you smack it about 50-100 feet past the finish line on one run, so you'll be awefully close to hitting it at 122+mph I think. Do you also have a set of 28's? If so, I'd have them ready as a backup too. Let me know if you go down.

I junked the Good Year 28.0 slicks. I purchased them in 2000 and the dry rot was very apparent. Right now I have the 27.3"s to work with. It's gonna be close to hitting that limiter if some more MPH is attained.

I have this mysterious rev limiter that kicks in @ 6,700. I switched computers and Extenders and I still can't rev past 6,700. My high side on the MSD has a 7,400 pill in it and the Extender is set above that for rev limit.

The computer and Extender is from cam303's LX and he is able to rev his combo to 7,300 clean. Makes me wonder "if" the MSD 6AL is f$cked up in my GT.

    Any thoughts Paul??

New best for me as well. I was hoping to break into the 11s and was shocked when my first pass was 11.57 @ 115.45 mph.

My best run of the nite (Forgot to turn the OD off as well)
    60' - 1.653
    330 - 4.694
    1/8 - 7.291
    mph - 94.23
    1000 - 9.554
    1/4 - 11.498
    mph - 115.22

The car felt great. My previous best was a 12.1 @ 113 mph. I have to give a big thanks to Lou (Sonic03Snake) for putting in alot of long nites workin on my car. Now time to put together my winter plans.
