    Pulled the engine, again

I decided to get a rehone and rering for my 347. I'm not sure which shop will do the work at this point. I will be taking the Tremec 3550 to Hoss' Gear Shop to fix the synchros. The good thing is that no bolts were stuck since I had the engine out last year.

Very nice. I guess this constitutes as the first winter project. I on the other hand do things backwards. I keep my car sitting in the garage all winter and work on it in the summer. HAHAHAH

The good thing about that is at least the garage floor isn't cold in the summer. I wish I had room for a lift! I am hoping that my home made wooden engine cradle is strong enough to transport the engine. I wanted something that could get the flywheel, and back plate high enough so I wouldn't have to remove them.

HAHA Yeah, but I always seen to pick the worst time to under go a timely project. HAHAHA The last one was putting a blower on at the end of summer. It led into many other things and left my car down for about a month.

You took the engine out with the hood on?

I would add some diagnal cross bracing to your engine transporter. And add a 2x4 vertical underneath the block mounts.

Not hard to pull the engine with the hood on.

I'd suggest a set of casters on the engine cradle to make it easier to move around.

Thanks very much for the additional bracing tips - I am definetely not a carpenter. Yes, the engine comes out easily with the hood on as long as you prop it up very high and don't have a lot of slack in the chain.
