    Why Honda nuthuggers are idiots...

Civic Si + exhuast + rice accessories by Mugen = 33k?!?!?!?!

    http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/car/471986929.html

I can think of a LOT better things to buy for 33k, and none of them say "vtec" on the valve cover. If you spend the money for this you deserve all the razzing you get.

    You know the sad part?

Another dealership in a richer area of philly has one for 35k. Its an area so weathly that daddy will buy it for little junior because "he likes it" even though its 35k.

These are the same kids who will then pull up to the 100 octane pump at the sunoco off 202 and pay $8.16 (yes, you read that right) a gallon for "race fuel, y0!"

MSRP on them are closer to 30K I believe.

Either way it is still ridiculously overpriced. The sad thing is that people are buying them. They seem to like to pay the extra money over the base price for an SI because of the limited availbility of the car. All the car is is a SI sedan with different wheels, suspension, exhaust, body kit and a shift knob.

So many other cars I would buy for 30K + the dealer mark up they're charging for the Mugen.

To each there own I guess.

    sorry i hate honda's.

i can't give them any respect. i ran 2 turbo honda's this summer in Belle Vernon with my weak ass 230rwhp procharged 3.8.

both were running TDO5H's a hatch at 9psi that i took by 3 and he got a good jump and a coupe that i got by 6 running 7psi. i weigh almost 1000lbs more than the hatch too. both had Vtec's in them not sure which engine but damn you would think with that money spent they would be alot faster
98 procharged 3.8 11psi junkyard engine. trying to scrape up enough to finish my buildup on my other engine.
    230rwhp/270ftlbs now
    450rwhp/450ftlbs when done@20psi i hope

And they are right. They will run forever. You can beat them to redline every shift, every single day and not hurt them. I worked for a Honda Stealership as a service tech many years ago. We had a customer who was a regular. She had an '89 LXi coupe 5-speed. It had 475,000 miles on the clock. Still clicking like it was new. American Honda Motors wanted the car and offered her a band new V6 accord EX as an even trade. She would not do it. Cant beat Honda quality. Sorry.

A buddy of mine had an '88 civic lx. He bought it about '91 or '92 and it had 80,000 miles on it. On or about 1995/6 we were coming back from mountain biking at Hidden Valley one day. It was a 5-speed. Coming down 31 going downhill in 5th, it had no power whatsoever. He is kind of a gearhead? and he's like "WTF, dude, no powa". We make it to the Country Pie Shoppe in Donegal. He pulls over and I'm yelling, "Don't shut it off, don't shut it off!" He shuts it off. We get out, open the hood, pull the dipstick. It's dry as a bone and smoke comes out the dipstick hole. I said, "Dude, you're 4ucked. That engine just twisted into a potato chip when you shut it off." He kept bitching about the low oil light not coming on. We got in, started it up, drove it five more miles to the gas station at the TP entrance, dumped 4.5 quarts of oil in it and it never missed a beat. I chit you NOT. It had about 130,000 miles at the time. He drove it for another year and 10,000 more miles and traded it in on a '96 EX, but only because he was afraid of it. He eventually sold the '96 EX to his old man who drove from Uniontown to Cranberry for work... it just blew up a few months ago with 300,xxx on it.

    Reliable? Yes. Fast? No.
