    Calling all weight trainers.

I have a black olympic "bench" bar that I use when "benching". It feels fine to me, but when I go lift somewhere else, my bench strength feels about 15 lbs. stronger. The bench bars I use when not at home are always chrome. I tried to google it, to find a different style.(maybe it supports more weight?)but wondered if the bar I have is a heavier bar than normal? It is identical looking other than it is a steel color not chrome. I don't have a home scale to check it.

    Thanks, Arnold in training.

we have checked bars at the gym and they are the same, however theres one black bar at the gym i always use because it feels better in my hands its not as big around as the chrome ones and im always able to bench more with it as well.

I'm not too sure but I think the gym I used to go to had 45 pounders and 55 pounders. One had grip all the way across and the other had grip just on the outside.

The bar that I have feels heavier than the standard chrome ones. I did find a site that sells a bar similar to mine and a chrome equivilant, both weighed within 2 #s. Maybe its all mental?!? Anyway, my bench and overall is increasing, look out biotches this spring!

Just remember to keep your ass on the bench or you'll get red lit.
