    Broken oil pump drive

    Like the title says, I broke the drive that goes from the oil pump to the distributer again. I broke it last year in the same exact race. I don't think I should be breaking these. The car is only making 350-360 RWHP running 11.40's N/A. Has anyone heard of this problem or know what might be causing these to break?

    are you useing a hardend shaft or stock?

    also what kind of pump is it ive heard of high pressure pumps breaking shafts and also how old is the pump

    Last year it was the original pump and I figured it locked up from being old, so I put a meiling standard pump in and it broke in a couple months. The shalft is probably stock it came with it from advance auto.

    lol maybe it's just me, but if i broke the shaft last year, i'd be getting a hardened shaft brotha!!

    Mike using a stock shaft is just pushing your luck. Just get a good hardened shaft before you waste that motor.
