I got a $200 7.1MP Kodak digital camera that takes GREAT video to my suprise. Took a video of my buddy's wedding on the beach and it was better than the one done with the actual video camera, plus you can also do still shots as well. Best of both worlds and sounds like an affordable solution for you.
we have a digi cam that does video already.
after looking again....i think itd be worth a little extra to get one that records to mini dvd.
how hard is it to take vids from a pc and put on dvd that will play in dvd player?
Jared, I've had both the mini DVD cams and Mini DV ones, and I'll never own a DVD cam again. I have a mini DV camcorder that uses mini DV tapes that can be recorded over after I transfer the vid's to my PC. I did have to go out and buy an external 300G hard drive and a DVD burner in order to make movies, but now I can make my own movies with chapters, etc. If you get a mini DV camera, make sure it has a i-wire output (firewire) for transfering to a PC.
