Quickest *stock* 5.0L longblock with these mods

Here's an example of what can be done with a stock 5.0L long block with some peripherals being modified. Remember this is being accomplished with a scant 225 FWHP rating from the factory. Note: The exhaust and parasitic loss mods help elevate the number some. (237 RWHP range)

    Mod breakdown:

    - computer module
    - off-road exhaust
    - mufflers disconnected
    - front sway bar removed
    - underdrive pulleys
    - 160 degree thermostat
    - 26"x8" slicks
    - 3.73's
    - short belt
    - advanced timing
    - ram air kit
    - airbag in passenger side rear spring
    - battery relocated
    - 65mm throttle body
    - MAC 1 5/8" full length headers
    - Zoom kevlar clutch
    - Z-code T-5 (2.95 low gear)
    - Hurst shifter

Pretty nice time slip! I like that list of mods alot, very cost effective. Take advantage of what you already have, and is very balanced.

On the '95, you can easily bypass the PS and AC with a shortbelt. This is worth at least a tenth and 1mph even with underdrive pulleys. The belt will go from the crank, to the alternator, over the idler pulley, down to the WP, and back to the crank. You won't have a lot of belt contact on the WP doing it this way but it works as I've done it.
