C'mon man, give Pitt some credit. Where where the other "stars" of WV? Give Pitt some damn credit, their offense has sucked, but they have been in the top 15 defenses all year, and stood up and played like the wanted to win. For the Pitt Seniors it was their bowl game. Add in some really questionable calls, and it wouldnt have even been that close. Hell, I think the safety was a gimme, if you watch the clock, it ran out before the punter stepped out of bounds.
WV came into the game thinking the same, no way Pitt can win, problem is, nobody told Pitt.
I laughed my ass off when I saw that. The first thing that came to mind when I saw all the sad faces in WV was they werent sad they lost, just that they couldnt drag the couches out and light them up. A nice tribute lighting them up in the 'Burgh.

Hey Bob I was just thinking about what you wrote. I am glad Pitt won, but with the kicker stepping out of the endzone for a safety with no time left, would the rules require a pooch kick to WV even with no time left? Kinda like an extra point after a no time remaining touchdown?
Jared, gotta give the Pitt defense a little respect, hell even the announcers said they looked more like the Steelers than a college team!

oh no doubt. pitt manhandled the offense...thats what i was trying to say about no offense.
however....the clock doesnt matter on the safety (even though it was a gimmie) the play started before the clock ran out, therefore whatever happens happens. havent you seen a punt return with no time left...same thing

I just wonder if WV could have forced Pitt to a free kick even with no time left, just because a free kick is required after a safety, be it elective or not. I haven't seen anything that says otherwise.
I'm not sure on the free kick, have to remember college rules are different than NFL so i'm not sure. The situation sure dont come up often. Seems nobody brought it up in the game analysis, so I bet it was fine.
