    2.73 x 336 x 160 mph = 146764.8 / 24.858268 = rpm 5,904.0638

    Disclaimer: Due to manufacturing tolerences ( tire heights) this figure can only be a guess in a sense. Knowing the actual height of the tire per manufacturer will yield more accurate results.
    where does the 336 come from in this? Its probably obvious, but i'm not seeing it right now?

    My calculation for speed at 6000 rpms, on a 225/50/16 tire, with a 4th gear ratio of 1.00:1 (this is what the net said for the T5 tranny )

    225 * .5 = 112.5 / 25.4 = 4.429
    4.429 + 8 = 12.429 = r
    Circumference = distance traveled by each ratation of tire = 2 * pi * r = 2 * 3.14159265 * 12.429 = 78.094" / 12 = 6.508'

    1 * 2.73 = 2.73
    6000 / 2.73 = 2197.8022 * 6.508 = 14303.2967 * 60 = 858197.8022 / 5280 = 162.5375 (different from what posted earlier b/c i rounded differently earlier)

    piece of cake... Ray was right ... eat that doubters...

    No problem man, thanks for backing me up with the #'s. Yes it's a stock tach, hence the rounding to around 160 and not 162.blah blah blah, haha.

    They're just combining all the constants like 12, 3.14, 60, 5280.
    5280*12/3.14*60 is around 336
