    Building a 302 tutorial

    Found this while looking around online. seems like a pretty good write up with good explanations and lots and lots of pics. thought id share it with everyone. also was wondering if he is doing anything wrong at all through the whole process? since i have almost no engine building experience i have no idea...

    Very good, but.........get out the air compressor and blow out any debris should be done first. Debris will stick to the break-in lube FTL!

    Nice thread but all that work he didn't paint block, bare steel oil pan. Atleast put some paint on that stuff before putting it together.

    Or clean the engine bay. It was posted on corral a long time ago. They were cutting him up for the lint from the rags.

    ya i notice that his engine bay looked like complete sh*t and he said wipe with paper towels? i wouldnt think that would be a good choice for wiping the cylinders?

    i try and use lint free cloth, but clean red shop rags usually due the trick..

    i was told that regular shop rags would leave lint all over the place...maybe i was told wrong tho because im sure you know what youre talking about

    Yeah, you can see all the red fuzzies all over the cylinders.
