When you get the new mufler bearing, make sure you install them w/ a left handed hammer, as a righ handed hammer will screw them up.

On a serious note there is a couple things that could be causing your dilemma.

1. Timing chain is shrunk one size too small.
2. Spark plug wires are a little too long.
3. The main prodsponder could be on it's way out.
4. Fuel injector ports are stripped.
5. Water pump may be down a quart.

You guys had me rolling. The best part is that my TT Stealth did have a "muffler bearing failure" because the stupid adjustable exhaust system got stuck. The turbo models have a two stage exhaust that goes from sport to tune with the push of a button. Yes it was stupid! I ended up pulling the whole system off and going pre-cat/cat less with a three inch setup. That made the old girl sound a bit better.

you know you might wanna go to autozone and get there glass strecher.... your front windsheild is prolly shrunk and you lost the aerodynamic's needed to chirp 4th..
