    then how come a roots can not push as much boost as a twin screw or can they?

    i'm not sure really, however if a twin screw can push more boost (i dunno), i'd go ahead and imagine its because a twin-screw is more efficient than a roots blower, therefore can create more boost at any certain engine speed?? I just take that from the articles i've read

    check out the two links i posted from "how stuff works" and "wikipedia"...

    i'd imaigne if you read both of those fully, it will answer most of your questions

    its not so much as they move more air( per diplacment) its how efficently it does it. Twin screw are acctually outlawed in top fuel because of how efficent they are.
