Bought an AK-47

A buddy of mine needed some cash quick for a new car down payment, so he sold me his AK-47 for $200. Its only 9-10months old.......not to bad......will post pics.....soon

What type of AK? I've owned 3 in the past and own one currently...lots of fun.

Here's the current state of my AK. Still have to test fire it, then I'm going to powdercoat all the metal with a black wrinkle-coat.

Get yourself some 30 round mags. Most of the 40 round ones were junk, plus they are ungodly looking. You can still find some of the 75 round drums for around $100.

40 round mags are not junk....they came in with the SAR series imports over the past few years. They were actually designed for the RPK, not the AK assault rifles. They're stamped sheet metal just like your typical 30 round AK mag. I've had a couple and all have functioned just fine.

I've tried 4 different ones and they all jammed under full auto fire.

I think I can answer for him.....**** NO.

10 years in the federal pen? No thanks...I know you really don't know any better, but do some research about this topic and you'll find that it's completely illegal for you to convert your semiautomatic rifle to a full auto (unless you hold a few licenses which I'm prett sure you don't have). If you want a full auto AK, you have to buy one that's already full auto.

That's one mod I would'nt attempt, unless you have alot of free time on your hands.

No is correct!!! My buddy has the correct liscences to convert ones in his inventory to full auto. He also has 2 transferable ones as well.
