I was visiting my dad at work and when leaving saw a LS1 WS6 T/A at the red light getting ready to come my way. Hurried to the car and pulled out just after he passed the parking lot. Hurried to catch up and hung in 3rd gear till i got to his rear bumper and thats when he punched it. I put it to the floor, and pulled alongside as 3rd was winding out. Passed him as i caught 4th. Havent seen him since. LOL.

Dont know what it all had or if was a stick or auto but this damb modular impresses me more and more every day. Even with snow tires and 140 pounds of sand in the trunk.

Joke?? Not quite. There is a member on SCS that has a "Factory Motor" that runs 12.51@108 and some change in N/A form. That is a 4.6 2V with a manual trans. Making a blanket statement like that is the joke.

Mach 1's are 4.6 4V and are very capable of generating low 13's @ 104-105 in box stock show room exiting trim.

And yet another blanket statement about how fast an LT1 is compared to a 2V car. Are we talking Bonneville Salt flats fast? 1/4 mile fast??

To sum it up, generalized statements have a tremendous amount of grey area. Hell, I've seen a stock long block 2nd gen 4.6 2V e.t. in the low 12's, N/A no doubt. And then again I've had the pleasure to see them in the high 14's. Combination is critical and if the driver mods not there you might as well open a Car and Driver and read how they went mid 14's with one and thought it was spectacular.

i seen it first hand so no calling bs on this one! i was in the passenger seat and ive never seen a front wheel drive do a wheelie but it happened. it was insane we must of carried the front wheels for a good 30-40 feet and then pulled them again when we hit second had to let out of it after that. to friggin scary and not enough Oshit handles in that beast.

well guys this thread got a little heated but i gota say both of you guys stood up for what you like..american muscle cars..so instead of busting each others balls on the net and causing hard feelings just agree to a grudge match at this summers fld's.

on the other hand...anything is possible in the streets....but ive owned a 03 zinch yellow gt..that i traded for a 02 ws6 trans am..and that ls1 was a hell of a runner compred to that gt...i as well love mustangs but even with the problems i had with the ls1 i miss that car...either way both cars have made a name for thereselves in the muscle car community..
