Well I got the motor apart after losing oil psi at the 1/8 mile. It wsa just as I expected a broken oil pump shaft. It will be replaced with a ARP shaft this time lol. The good thing is that the bearings look great.

Holy crap, cant beleive it twisted that far.
There still has to be a root cause betond the shaft itself. Did you pull the pump appart?
Bob Myers
yea that pumped had to have locked up or something else cause that shaft didn't do that by itself
88 GT...and some boost
I pulled one out of my 88 coupe that was twisted like that but not broken. I replaced it with an ARP one and it was fine till I sold the car.

I think it twist a little bit each time I hammer it until it finally breaks. The pump is only about four months old which was about a 1000 miles and 80 passes down the 1/4 mile and I don't see anything wrong with it.
Lou you said the ARP was fine until you sold it. Do you mean it broke after you sold it or that you just dont have the car anymore?
