Personally, I think you are going to overpay unless you are dead set on Autometer, or some feature of it. I run an AEM on my Capri, and they can be had for quite a bit less. I know there are severla others on here running them as well. They can be set up to read AFR or Lambda, come with black or silver faces, and can be datalogged a few ways. There is a 0-5 V output (what I use), or a serial output. Pretty neat for the price.

    From Jegs....

    Summit....

But ALWAYS much cheaper off eBay, just a random one from a search....

I'm not sure what sensor the Autometer ones use, but the AEM one can be had semi-reasonable when you toast it ;) (and you will if you run it all the time, or do agressive tuning)

    Just my .o2 (pun intended ;) )

Most people i see have one of the Innovative ones - either the LC-1 or LM-1, but i think they are definitely a bit more pricy... The AEM is probably the second most popular i use, and all of these widebands come with lots of happy customers..

I bought the PLX wideband because it was on a special group purchase on LS1tech... So far i've been very happy with it, and have no reason to look elsewhere.. Also, i think its a little bit cheaper than most of the others. http://www.plxdevices.com/products/dm5/afrsmcombo/

The Innovate stuff is real popular, and can be reasonable. It just starts to add up if you want the gauge type display. I use their stuff for data logging too, love their software.

The PLX unit is becoming popular for sure.

If you want to get real cheap, there is another unit out there now called JAW (Just Another Wideband) that is a DIY option, and he gives even better deals on group purchases.

We all make these decissions bsed on taste, budget, and functionality we need. After having a wideband, I would not be without one again in anything I'm romping on. Of course you need a way to do something abour what it tells you (tuner).

I run the AEM and I have absolutely no complaints about it. It was simple to hook up and is easily read. I datalog it with my AEM stand alone.

I thought so too. But the asshole at summit had her confused and tried to talk her into something else that was not even needed. When you call for something, dont try to confuse a girl. Its just wrong!!!

I saw the AEM unit and liked it. I like the autometer's around dial led's. But to save 50 dollars and go with the AEM plus you can change the face colors too, thats not a bad idea. I hane also seen people use the NGK NTK one. Its more of like a box that reads the air/fuel with no dial. Thats not too bad either. Then I would not need the dual gauge pod for the pillar.

I thought the "needle" was just that, a needle. I guess I was wrong and did not read fully.

I am liking the PLX more and more. Its reasonable. I also like the NGK one. Its different and can be mounted anywhere. I do like the gauge style and mountability with a dual pillar pod. But the box type is simple yet effective. Decisions, decisions.

    nice!

    70 bucks + 60 for a sensor + 10 for misc wire = 140 for wideband with display.

Thats in the price range im willing to spend.

hey cam, can we install this on your cobra for testing purposes? ;)

I like the large display NGK unit. It's easier for me to see since I am color blind/challenged.

I think the round ones are nice as well if they have a digital center. You obviously need to have the proper mounting area available for which ever one you choose.
