Flowmaster 1 chambers and offroad H??

Just curious to what everyone thinks about the 1 chamber flow's compared to the usuall 40's? I recently got to here a stang that had the 1 chamber flows and a mac offroad h and it sounded simliar to mine but much louder. Anyone out there ever have these? Is the interior noise level really loud?? Basically what are the pros and cons of the 1 chambers compared to the original 40's. Discuss:D

Oh yea right now i'm running a mac offroad H and flow 40's.

IMO they are pretty loud. I *much* prefer the 2 chamber Super 40 series muffs.

Yea i feel like with a mustang you cant go wrong with the 2 chambers. Its not the loudest setup out there but they've a nice classic tone to them and they sound good.

MAP351 and Jan have the one chambers on thier cars. Unfortunatley, they are both 2.3 turbo's so its going to be difficult to compare, but I was pretty impressed with the tone. Our stuff usually sounds like a tractor, those actually sound pretty good.

Keep in mind that the difference here is that the Pro Chamber quiets it down a lot. I love having one since it is almost as quiet as having katz.

That is too weird. I went from a catted x pipe to a pro chamber and they sound almost the same volume wise.

So then according to your statement the h pipe would be almost as quiet as the catted h pipe? I don't buy it.

It sounds like you are describing an X pipe. They are the ones that are much louder and way raspier than an H pipe.

Myself, and two friends have the Mac Pro Chambers and they are not the least bid loud or raspy.

Are you talking about a 5.0 engine? What mufflers are you running? Maybe that would make the difference you are talking about.

I understand that exhaust is very subjective but in all my years I have never seen anyone say a Pro Chamber is louder, even a little, than an H pipe w/o cats.

60' reflects a trap speed about 20 mph less than your mph range.

My point is, a well sorted suspension running 113-114 mph in the 1/4 can attain mid to high 1.5 60's. With the roughly 20 more mph you have, 3-5 tenths is being left on the table.
