    ESPN jump

Well, i have to admit that this is not really what i had hoped for. I wish this would have ended much differently but it is what it is. This is the ESPN broadcast from New Years Eve. I was lucky enough to be in Vegas with all the Pro riders for Red Bull during Robbie's new distance record. However it was very bittersweet not being able to jump in front of all those people.

Damn you would think the cardboard stuff would have been longer for just in cases like these.

Your right, they should have been longer. We had to move all those boxes in everynight, and after 12 times in a row of going no more than 60 some feet we shaved about 30 feet of boxes off for the last 3 jumps. As you can see we should not have done that. But it in the same effect if the truck would have gone left or right to much we would be saying why dident we make them wider. It's easy to think things like that after the fact. But bottom line is that we are responsible for his safety.

Kinda off topic b/c this is about the truck guy, but for the motorcycle jump - how fast did the guy have to hit the ramp? What bike was he on?? (i'm guessing a 250cc 2-stroke)

I only got to see the highlights on the news yesterday morning, so there wasnt much info... 322 (or something) is rediculous!

Telecast live on ESPN's New Year, No Limits program shortly after the ball dropped in Times Square signifying 2008, Maddison hit the take-off ramp at 94 miles per hour on his Honda CR 500, reaching a height of more than 60 feet, and soared into history.

That was an amazing jump on the bike. Hard to imagine surviving that once, let alone twice, nailing the landing both times. Truly amazing. That guy is unbelievably talented...and completely nuts!!!!
