    f-150 clutch help

ok having a problem with the f150....its a 94 with the 4.9L inline 6. 5 speed tranny (actually 4 speed and an 'overdrive gear') and 2WD.

i was moving it into the drive way one day and all of the sudden when i pushed the clutch in to put it into first the clutch stuck to the floor and only comes up about 4 inches...i put my toe under it and pushed it back up and now it is loose all the way down till it gets about 4 inches from the floor. it is still drivable but im afraid the clutch is not completely dis-engaging when i press the clutch in.

it is a hydraulic clutch and i checked the resevoir and has enough fluid. the clutch is fairly new and i know the clutch isn't bad as it just happened out of nowhere while moving the car off the road and into my driveway.

    did something break or what?

Sounds like it is the Slave Cylinder. I had a similar problem on a 93 Ranger that I had.

It basically ensures that the clutch releases. If you can replace a clutch you can replace the slave cylinder. But you had said before that the fluid was not low so it might now be the slave cylinder.

Here is a pic of the clutch and slave cylinder for your truck

from what i have been reading online, a lot of other f150 owners are experiencing the same problems as me and i think it is the slave cylinder that needs replaced. kind of sucks because id have to remove the tranny ill probably have to wait till summer to fix it since im up at school now.

    stupid @$$ hydraulic clutches wtf....

    thanks for the help molnartr

Check the entire hydraulic system, alot of times when a slave cylinder goes, the master and hoses in between are soon to follow.
