Well all the backflip noise has slowed down around my shop ,and i was given a pretty serious list of jobs to be done before we start building our Pikes Peak car. This is a Trophy Truck owned by my shop that has raced Baja 1000 several times. In the last outing and motor was blown, tranny destoyed, and an axle broken. The truck was then torn down to rolling chassis to be rebuilt at some point. So i got a HUGE pile of parts that i have never seen together and have been given the task of rebuilding the truck. I've been busy putting it together as you can see in the pictures. It is has been sold/leased to a company who is filming Fast and the Furious 4. So this truck will be featured in that movie to some extent, and if i'm lucky i will be taging along to service the truck during filming. So anyways here is the good stuff. The truck is powered by a fresh NA 610ci Dart big M chevy that made 800 hp/ft. lbs on 87 octane under 3k rpm. It has 25 inches of suspension travel front and rear, rides on 37's and the hood sits about nose level with me.(I stand close to 6'3"). Rear suspension is a trailing arm setup. The front trailing arm mounting point is under the driver and passenger seat, making the links app. 6 feet long! I've got a hard on thinking about driving this thing 3 miles down the street to the chassis dyno in a few days when i'm done. I've heard rumors that it destroyed a AC Snitzer M3 on the street before the motor let go. Either way i will def. post a dyno video up.
