1964 Galaxie 500 XL Tremec Project

Just got my 3550! Rob (Wick) will be changing a few things e.g. FE Big block input shaft and 4th gear. I will post up pictures when I take some.

It is going in my 1964 Galaxie 500 390. Its a 390 w/428 crank and .040 over. Edelbrock performer RPM aluminum heads, Shelby roller rockers, 427 R-code Factory cast headers, and Tri-power.


It will be very nice having a 0.68 5th gear. The top loader in there now was 1:1 in 4th.....

Thanks man! I am excited to get this thing out. The car is sweet but it always sucked to shift and take on the highway. This Tremec is gona fix that!

I actually have a day off! My imputshaft and shim kit is in so I will take it over to Wicks so he can finish putting the Tremec toghether! In about an hour or so I will be pulling that old top loader out and seeing what (if any) mods I will need to do to the tunnel.

At this point the only thing I am seeing that I will need to do is some cross memeber work.

Also, I am looking for a Crown Victora P71 Alum driveshaft. If I am correct this is the one I will need.

Thanks guys! This summer I will have some more parties and it will be like a car show. I love having friends with old cars and Mustangs, people think we are having car show or shooting a movie over here. lol
I can tell summer is comming though.....I am already hearing the 5.0 and 4.6 cars launching infront of my house.
My friend has a 1970 twin turbo Camaro pushing just shy of 1000hp- that is always a spectical when he leaves.....
