1964 Galaxie 500 XL Tremec Project

Just got my 3550! Rob (Wick) will be changing a few things e.g. FE Big block input shaft and 4th gear. I will post up pictures when I take some.

It is going in my 1964 Galaxie 500 390. Its a 390 w/428 crank and .040 over. Edelbrock performer RPM aluminum heads, Shelby roller rockers, 427 R-code Factory cast headers, and Tri-power.


It will be very nice having a 0.68 5th gear. The top loader in there now was 1:1 in 4th.....

Thanks man! I am excited to get this thing out. The car is sweet but it always sucked to shift and take on the highway. This Tremec is gona fix that!

Here is the shifter I am going with. The one show is for a 3650 but you get the point. I will use this base and part of the handle. I need to figure out how to fab a factory looking handle to this thing.

Just ordered the following for my Tremec.

• New Main shaft TKO
• 1/2 Slider complete hub
• 3/4 Slider
• All new synchronizers
• TKO FE 390/427 input shaft
